Sun shining, the smell of sunblock and the sea, the sound of waves crashing, the taste of ice water relieve your tongue, and the sight of hundreds of key clubbers filled the beach of Huntington as people from all over the LA and OC area gathered together for a fantastic day of bonding, DCMs, and a beach cleanup.
We first kicked off the event with registration and light snacks to make the attendees feel welcomed and comfortable. After being welcomed in, they were introduced to the regions LTGs and played some bonding games in order to get to know fellow key clubbers from different regions of California. Games such as indian chief and relay races really allowed everyone to open up and be receptive to mingling. Afterwards we got to eat a nice lunch together and talk with people we would have never been able to meet without key club.
During this time some key clubbers got to play the watermelon game and got very close to know some other club's board officers. It was a great time to loosen up and have fun in the sun ☀️ Each division later had their own DCM and got to update the clubs of all the events that had happened and would happen. Then we had the opportunity to enjoy the beach and the cold refreshing waves while others relaxed under the sun and played icebreakers.
Finally, key clubbers were able to pick up trash around the beach and pick up any garbage and recyclables to clean up the environment! Beach Boomba was a great event for key clubbers to get more involved in the community and become more aware of the key club family.
